Lalit Singh Thakur is a folk singer who sings Ramayan in Chattisgarhi dialect. Chhattisgarh is not only the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya, Lord Ram's mother, the rare temple of Mother Kaushalya, the mother of Lord Shri Ram, in the holy land of Chandkuri village of Chhattisgarh is the only temple in the country and in the world.
Lalit Singh Thakur was born in a family of musicians. Like any other child Lait also started singing at age of 6 years. Lalit Singh got married at the age of 15 and was fortunate that his wife’s family was also a reputed family of singers. Support of both the families helped Lalit Singh to start his journey of singing at local Ramlila. Soon he was suggested to sing Ramayan in Chattisgarhi. So he first translated and then started performing on stage. He participated at Chitrakoot Mela and was appreciated by the audiences since then he always participates in Chitrakoot Mela.Lalit Singh Thakur have performed nationwide with his team members.
Lalit Singh Thakur have performed at international cultural platforms, to name few he has performed at Mauritius, South Africa, USA, London, Malaysia and Indonesia.
